25 Years Anniversary celebration Match at Wrotham Bowls Club

The birth of Wrotham Bowls Club was sometime in 1988 when local Men & Women got together with much advice and support from the 'Friends of Wrotham' , a local organisation that is still in existence and active today.

Wrotham were in contact with Kent County, Division 3 officials in 2012, to request a match to be played, between the Club and the County during 2013. The date agreed was Tuesday 14th May 2013, 4 rinks Men.

The day was cold with a slight drizzle, which did not seem to affect the Bowlers although most of the supporters watched the matches from inside the Clubhouse. The cup of tea and biscuits after 10 ends was most welcome, whilst the damping had almost stopped.

A salad Meal was produced by 'The Bull Hotel', which was comsumed in the Buttery. The Club President, Brian Wicks, a member of the club since its inauguration, spoke words of welcome to the many Presidents and Past Presidents of the County who were in attendance.

The current County Bowling Association President Eddie Long, who replied, thanking WBC for its welcome and presented the clubs President, Chairperson, Captain and Greenkeeper with a gift of thanks.   The Ladies who supplied the tea & biscuits during a short break were also given a 'thank you' with a small gift.   A raffle completed the proceedings and it was agreed by all present that the day had been a GREAT SUCCESS.
